A theme seminar titled Developing Joint Programmes and Degrees in Nordic and Baltic Countries took place in Tampere, Finland, 13 - 14 December 2007. The seminar organisers would like to thank all the 300 participants for making the seminar a successful event!
The theme seminar focused on joint / double degrees from the perspective of higher education institutions. Topics to be discussed in working groups were e.g. student recruitment, agreements between HEIs, student admission, curricula, quality assurance, funding and link to research.
The theme seminar was intended for those interested in planning, developing and implementing joint degree programmes, e.g. teachers and researchers, administrators and specialists in curriculum development from the Nordic and Baltic countries. The programme was planned to cover themes related to institutional and national policies on joint programmes as well as implementing them in practice. Six successful Nordic Master programmes were presented: Nordic Master Program in Gerontology, Innovative Information, Nordic Master in Marine Ecosystems, Nordic Master in Plant Pathology, Innovative Sustainable Energy and Religious Roots of Europe.
The theme seminar was organised jointly by the Finnish Ministry of Education, Finnish National Board of Eduation, Centre for International Mobility CIMO and University of Tampere, and funded by the Nordic Council of Ministers. |
